What to expect!
This Mental Health Expo is designed to educate, inform, and connect members of the public with mental health, brain development, and wellness resources. The event provides opportunities to learn about services such as psychotherapy, counselling, neurodevelopmental supports, holistic wellness practices, and complementary services. The Expo does not provide medical diagnosis, treatment, or crisis intervention services.
Participation in the Expo does not create a therapist-client, clinician-patient, or healthcare provider relationship between attendees and any presenter, exhibitor, organizer, or volunteer. Attendees can consult a qualified, licensed healthcare professional for personalized advice, diagnosis, or treatment but this does not secure a client relationship unless further pursued outside the expo.
Licensing, credentials, and scopes of practice vary by profession and provider. Attendees are responsible for verifying credentials, regulatory status, and suitability of any service provider before engaging in services outside the Expo.
The Expo may include complementary or alternative wellness practices (such as reiki, energy work, meditation, or holistic approaches). These services are not substitutes for medical or psychological care and results are not guaranteed. Individuals should use personal discretion and consult licensed professionals when combining wellness practices with clinical care.
This Expo is not equipped to respond to mental health emergencies or crises. If you or someone else is experiencing: suicidal thoughts, thoughts of self-harm, severe emotional distress, or an immediate mental health crisis, please seek immediate help by: calling 911 (or your local emergency number), contacting Talk Suicide Canada (1-833-456-4566), or reaching out to a local crisis centre or emergency department.
By attending this Expo, participants acknowledge that: They are responsible for their own health decisions and follow-up care. Participation in activities, discussions, or demonstrations is voluntary.
While exhibitors and organizers strive to create a respectful and supportive environment: Conversations at the Expo are not confidential or protected by health privacy laws unless explicitly stated by a licensed provider during a formal consultation outside the event.
The Expo organizers, partners, sponsors, exhibitors, speakers, and volunteers: Are not liable for any decisions, actions, outcomes, or services pursued as a result of attending the Expo.
The Expo aims to be inclusive and accessible; however: Services and information may not meet the needs of every individual.
